Did I say once a week? I meant once a month, to start of course. And pictures in two weeks? I meant two months. So glad I cleared that up, whew! Don't want to set the bar to high right off the bat.
So what's been going on this last month you ask. Let's just say that I've had better times. Rough start to the new year to say the least. Oh well, it's all about attitude and perspective right? Right.... Self reflection amidst moments of personal crises can bring to light unwanted reality. Go way light, go away light! Ignorance is bliss so they say and while I would agree with that train of thought regarding some issues I have to say that knowledge, self awareness and just plain ol' understanding is a much better way to live.... even if it hurts at first.
Funny story: went to the park with the boys the other day, ran around playing tag. It's so hard to play two different ways at the same time. I have to slow down and pretend not to be fast so as not to catch the little one in about 3 seconds all the while pretending to be fast enough to catch up with the older one. To look as though I pose and actual threat knowing full well that he can out run even my best attempts. Anyway, standing in line at the drinking fountain and Kobe is standing with both hands on his hips and with one hip jutting out to the side. There's already a kid taking his sweet time drinking up what I'm sure is the very last of the water supply for the city of Alpharetta. Finally my sweet loving four year old can't take it anymore so he shouts out, "Hurry up kid, I'm thirsty!" Although I should have taken the moment to educate him on such things as social grace all I could do is laugh. I love that kid! While at times it can be problematic, he is never afraid to say what's on his mind. So as he takes his time drinking the water I stood behind him with my two cents, "Hurry up kid, I'm thirsty!" :)

I'm back......
Those of you who know me know that I am not really the best at keeping in touching or up to date with anything. As part of my New Year's Resolution's I have vowed to make at least a half hearted attempt to change this. So..... here it goes, I am pledging here and now to all of you at least one blog per week. It's a moderately weak offering at best but it's what I have to offer for now. Pictures you say?? Give me another two weeks to work on that part.

In the Army Now
As some of you may or may not know, my brother, Bryce has joined the United States Army. He is in the 192nd Brigade Delta Company 2-19 and is currently in boot camp at Fort Benning Georgia. Fort Benning is about 2 1/2 hours away from my house and he had a 36 hour pass this weekend so Landon and I drove down to the base and picked him up so he could spend some time with us. It was so awesome to see him. He looked so good, so grown up. He was dressed in his Class B uniform and looked very handsome. Not surprising to anyone who knows me but I cried when I saw him. Not because I missed him (although I have) or because I was sad or anything. I cried because when I looked at him standing at attention with the rest of his platoon and the company he looked amazing. He has really grown up in the last six months and matured into an awesome young man. He is so happy with what he is doing, he really enjoys it. You can tell when you look at him. I am so proud of him!!!!!! He will graduate on June 20th and have a two week leave after which he will be stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas where he will join the 1st Infantry Division. He currently specializes in mechanized which means he rolls around in tanks and stuff like that. He's plans include Airborne school and going Halo (what that means exactly I'm not sure but he wants to jump out of airplanes, why I'm not sure). Anyway, we had an awesome time and the boys couldn't get enough of him. When Bryce was in the bathroom Kobe would stand outside the door and knock non-stop while saying, "Bryce, Bryce, Bryce, hurry up Bryce!" Landon had a baseball game that day and was very excited that his Uncle, the army guy, would be able to watch him play. I love my brother so much and I am so proud of him and what he is doing. Please everyone, support our military and when you come across a service man take a moment to thank them. That's my brother out there.

Lazy afternoon at the lake
Landon was out of school early yesterday so we decided to make the most of our afternoon and go to the lake, Lake Lanier. It's about 20 minutes from the house so it's really convienant for quick little trips. The boys had a good time trying to fish, throwing rocks into the water and just doing boy things. I enjoyed myself on the beach chair relaxing while reading magazines and listening to my ipod. It was a much needed get away for all of us, even if it was just for the afternoon. We ended our fun day by going to the local Dairy Queen where we ate dinner outside. It's always fun to do anything outside, at least the boys think so.

"...and playing third base it's the Phillies own Landon Nielsen!!!"

Baseball season is now in full "swing!" Landon has been practicing for about a month and a half and just started playing games. He is playing third base and fills in for shortstop when needed. This is his first year playing kid pitch. It's very exciting as each year goes by to see the kids get more and more involved with the game. Landon will be pitching at the next game so he's been practicing all week with dad. There are also no coaches allowed on the field so everything the kids do is on their own. We have two practices during the week and games on Saturday. Landon's coach has also asked that he try out for the All-Star team. Landy felt very proud when he heard that. He is a hard worker and is always trying to help out his team. It should be an exciting season. GO PHILLIES!!!

Sneek Peek for Toddler Spring Fashion!

Kobe is becoming quite the little trend setter, at least he's trying. He got these really cute froggy rainboots from his Grandma George. He loves them!!! He wears them just about every day whether it's raining or not! I'm positive he gets his sense of fashion from his father.
He is also becoming very independent. I now have him trained to make his own lunch. This is quite a time saver for myself. I can spend a few more minutes soaking in the tub, talking on the phone, or even blogging!
WARNING: Playing with a basketball indoors can lead to injury!!!

Kobe's favorite thing to play with is a little rubber basketball and his little hoop that we have inside the house. He is actually really good at shooting and it's amazing how long it can keep him entertained. Well, the other night he was really into it and was running all over the house. He tripped over a rug and did a face plant right into a little side table in the living room. The poor guy had a gash over his left eye. Of course I was at work when all this happened (he never seems to get hurt when mommy is home.) The next day he walked around all day and night with a band-aid over part of his eye. I think he thought it was cool. He was getting a lot of attention everywhere we went.
