Lazy afternoon at the lake

Landon was out of school early yesterday so we decided to make the most of our afternoon and go to the lake, Lake Lanier. It's about 20 minutes from the house so it's really convienant for quick little trips. The boys had a good time trying to fish, throwing rocks into the water and just doing boy things. I enjoyed myself on the beach chair relaxing while reading magazines and listening to my ipod. It was a much needed get away for all of us, even if it was just for the afternoon. We ended our fun day by going to the local Dairy Queen where we ate dinner outside. It's always fun to do anything outside, at least the boys think so.

"...and playing third base it's the Phillies own Landon Nielsen!!!"

Baseball season is now in full "swing!" Landon has been practicing for about a month and a half and just started playing games. He is playing third base and fills in for shortstop when needed. This is his first year playing kid pitch. It's very exciting as each year goes by to see the kids get more and more involved with the game. Landon will be pitching at the next game so he's been practicing all week with dad. There are also no coaches allowed on the field so everything the kids do is on their own. We have two practices during the week and games on Saturday. Landon's coach has also asked that he try out for the All-Star team. Landy felt very proud when he heard that. He is a hard worker and is always trying to help out his team. It should be an exciting season. GO PHILLIES!!!

Sneek Peek for Toddler Spring Fashion!

Kobe is becoming quite the little trend setter, at least he's trying. He got these really cute froggy rainboots from his Grandma George. He loves them!!! He wears them just about every day whether it's raining or not! I'm positive he gets his sense of fashion from his father.
He is also becoming very independent. I now have him trained to make his own lunch. This is quite a time saver for myself. I can spend a few more minutes soaking in the tub, talking on the phone, or even blogging!

WARNING: Playing with a basketball indoors can lead to injury!!!

Kobe's favorite thing to play with is a little rubber basketball and his little hoop that we have inside the house. He is actually really good at shooting and it's amazing how long it can keep him entertained. Well, the other night he was really into it and was running all over the house. He tripped over a rug and did a face plant right into a little side table in the living room. The poor guy had a gash over his left eye. Of course I was at work when all this happened (he never seems to get hurt when mommy is home.) The next day he walked around all day and night with a band-aid over part of his eye. I think he thought it was cool. He was getting a lot of attention everywhere we went.

Popcorn, hamburger, bubble gum...Oh My!!!!

So what do these three things have in common? They are all items that have been found up Kobe's nose!! Yup, that's right. Up Kobe's nose. Among a few others- tiny pieces of tissue and grapes. I'm not sure what is going through the little guy's head when he decides to put these random objects in his nose. At least the hamburger had been cooked. That one would have been pretty hard to get out had it been raw. The funny thing, actually it was funny the first two times he did it, now that it's been six times it's not so funny. When he knows I have to pull something out he will lay down and "assume the position." He lays really still while I have to use tweezers to pull out what ever is up there. I'm lucky that we have not made a trip to the emergency room. Knock on wood!!!

Happy Birthday Landon!!!

It is now official... I am the mother of a nine year old!!! Landon had his 9th birthday yesterday, March 2nd. We had a party planned on Friday for him and some friends. Things didn't go according to plan (do they ever?) when three out of the four friends he invited couldn't make it. We decided to bag the party and opt for a family fun day at Six Flags. We were at the park from open to close. Eight hours of non-stop fun, tears, cries, and laughter. Landon was finally tall enough this year to make it on all the rides. That kid is a THRILL SEEKER!!! He rode every crazy, wild, out of control roller coaster he could. There is one called "The Goliath," it is the biggest roller coaster in Georgia and one of the biggest in the country. Landy rode it five times! Kobe also got to go on some rides and he is following in his big brother's footsteps. His favorite ride was the kiddie coaster. He rode that about four or five times straight. He was so cute, he held his arms in the air above his head like Landon. Every time he started to get excitited he would start screaming and laughing at the same time. I have the best boys!! I knew it had been a good day when Landon told me it was his best birthday ever!!!
